SAS Design is a Design consulting studio focusing on ingenious design solution, including remodeling and new construction. It intends to offer simple solutions after absorbing the different kinds of information & choices. It encompasses the austere aesthetic of minimalism while looking forward to the cutting edge challenge with an innovative way to lead our future living.
Architect Shilpa Sawant obtained her professional degree from the esteemed Sir, J.J. College of Architecture, Mumbai. Coming from a rich family history of association with the architectural industry, design & Aesthetics appreciation came to her naturally. As a child she was always inclined towards paper art from early age which helped her express her creative imagination and ideas which in turn led her to the design field. Being one of the founder members of Astitva Architects with her brother & having worked with renowned architect Mrs. Brinda Somaya at S & K Consultants, she started her own practice under the brand SAS Design with the philosophy of commitment to design excellence.
With over a decade of professional experience in the architectural industry, she has gained diversified knowledge and exposure of the various facets of the practice. She has garnered rich experience while executing numerous interior and architectural projects in different geographical locations. Many of her works, including her own house, have been covered by prestigious publications. She has also been a visiting faculty member for Interior Design in the esteemed Sir, J.J. College of Architecture.

Duplex at BKC, Mumbai

Area : 5000 sqft, (In collaboration with DIG Architects)
Year of completion : 2016
A 5 bhk duplex designed for a contemporary couple living with identity and comfort. Taking advantages of the reflective surface in order to give guts, depth, and a dimension perhaps a little Mystical to everyday objects and furniture. Reflections add illusive spaces and at the same time adding to the rich effect and lavish feel.

A smart home solution with complete contemporary approach for a young businessman from technical background. Keeping the material palette simple and playing with the patterns imparts necessary eccentricity.
RESIDENCE AT JUHU, Mumbai

The relaxed and chic Scandinavian décor in this 2,500 sq.ft. apartment represents an attempt to test deified set rules and experiment with materials, textures and colours. A perfect amalgamation of simplicity and style, the only ornament of this design is its logic and truth.

The designers experimented with this 1300 sq. ft. space to create a contemporary design with a dash of serenity. Working around the existing structure of a split-level, attempts were made to ensure that every area flowed seamlessly into the next. A predominant use of pastel shades added a South East Asian charm.

A 4 bhk duplex needed to have unique experience for each space. Keeping the requirement at the base a cohesive experience has been brought through the design language set for the overall space.

VILLA INTERIORS, GOA

This Goa based Luxury Contemporary Villa Interior Design is definitely the pinnacle of effortless sophistication. It respects the cultural aspect and at the same time provides a modern lifestyle to the family.

Year of completion : 2007
At 753 sq. ft. it was imperative to utilize the space optimally. Multi-functional units, smart camouflaging and a subtle blend of colors ensured just that. Discreet but adequate lighting gives the entire space a sophisticated, uncluttered look.

RESIDENCE AT DADAR E, Mumbai

Area : 800 sqft
Year of completion : 2008
In order to create a luxury of space in this 800 sq. ft. house, the structural and technical elements of the apartment are all carefully concealed. Views and flow-through areas are created between the various spaces. Objects and colours are distributed in a dynamic composition in order to avoid monotony or boredom caused by a too neutral interior.

Tastefully selected materials, finishes, accessories and warm and humane strokes, combined with simplicity materialized in a 1,000 sq. ft. space that invited comfort, matching the taste of the client.

Strong believers in the Philosophy of ‘form has to follow function’, the designers treated this space like a huge volume wrap, with every element falling into place rather than standing out individually. Straight lines and cold white expanses with just a hint of colour adhere to rigorous definitions of a ‘minimalistic’ design.

RESIDENCE AT THANE, Mumbai

Year of completion : 2006
A makeover for lakeside house with cozy feel. The consequent design just grew on this central idea. All the lake view facing windows were turned into breathers to help the lake breeze & light filter and move freely into house at the same time offering a great vista. The plan concept is then further refined to show openings, furnishings, providing a clearer representation of how the spaces relate to one another as well as to the exterior landscape beyond.

Year of completion : 2004
Carving out more space in this 500 sq. ft. flat and giving it a facelift through the intelligent use of contemporary materials like steel and glass was the key to create a design that speaks volumes in a small house. The designers adhered to a volumetric approach in using elements that were not in your face but that blended with the entire space. Cantilevered partitions allowed for visual continuity, making the space look unrestricted

Minimalist decor merges with abstract design style in this 1500sq.ft. stylish expanse. Innovative use of materials creates a warm, elegant ambience that captures the soul of the space.

Year of completion : 2005
Materials used in this 1,500 sq. ft. house do not scream out their incongruity but blend in perfectly with the site and what it stands for. Natural wood of ebony and zebrano veneers could flaunt its personality when contrasted against warm montone colour schemes. A discerning choice of painting and accessories complemented the look appropriately. The lighting styles created mood and drama.
